Last Updated: July 31, 2026
1. Introduction and Scope
QPO Energy, LLC d/b/a MeterHome (“MeterHome,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use and share it, and the choices and rights you have.
MeterHome is the registered trade name of QPO Energy, LLC. This Policy applies to www.meter-up.com and www.meterhome.com — both are our websites — and to the forms, phone calls, emails, and text messages through which we interact with you (together, the “Services”). It does not apply to the practices of utilities, program administrators, or independent contractors that maintain their own privacy policies.
By using the Services, you acknowledge this Policy. If you do not agree with it, please do not use the Services.
2. Information We Collect
2.1 Information you provide to us
- Contact information: your name, service and mailing address, email address, and phone number(s), including your mobile number.
- Property and eligibility information: the address you enter to check eligibility, your utility or electric provider, account or meter information you choose to share, and details about the home’s electrical system, panel, and site conditions.
- Scheduling and service information: appointment preferences, access instructions, installation notes, and photos you send us.
- Communications: the content of emails, text messages, web form submissions, chat messages, and calls with us, including call recordings.
- Consent records: the date, time, IP address, web page, and exact disclosure language shown when you agreed to be contacted by phone or text.
2.2 Information collected automatically
When you visit our websites, we and our analytics providers may automatically collect your IP address, browser type and settings, operating system and device information, referring and exit pages, pages and content viewed, links clicked, dates and times of access, and approximate location derived from your IP address. We collect this using cookies, pixels, tags, and similar technologies (see Section 7).
2.3 Information from other sources
We may receive information about you from utilities and energy-program administrators, authorized dealers, installers and contractors, marketing partners and lead sources that you submitted an inquiry to, property and address data providers, and publicly available sources.
2.4 Sensitive information
We do not request Social Security numbers, financial account numbers, precise geolocation, biometric data, or health information through our websites. Please do not send this information to us by text message or web form.
3. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to:
- determine whether a property may qualify for a battery backup system and what program funding may be available;
- respond to your inquiries and provide customer service;
- schedule, coordinate, and complete site assessments, installations, and service visits, including sharing what an installer needs to reach you and do the work;
- send you appointment, installation, account, and service notifications by email, phone, or text;
- operate, maintain, secure, troubleshoot, and improve the Services;
- analyze how our websites are used and measure the performance of our marketing;
- maintain records of consent, communications, and transactions;
- prevent fraud, protect our rights and the safety of others, and enforce our terms; and
- comply with law, program requirements, and regulatory or contractual obligations.
4. Text Messages and Mobile Information
If you opt in to receive text messages from us, we use your mobile number and the content of your messages to communicate with you about your eligibility inquiry, appointments, installation and service updates, account notifications, and questions you send us. Full program terms — including message frequency, rates, and how to opt out — are in our SMS Terms and Conditions.
No mobile information will be shared with third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes. All opt-in data — including text messaging originator opt-in data and consent records — will not be shared with any third parties, except with the messaging platforms, aggregators, and wireless carriers that are required to deliver the messages on our behalf, or as required by law.
We do not sell your mobile number or your text message content.
To stop receiving texts, reply STOP to any message from us, or contact us at 877-220-3852 or Sales@meterhome.com. Reply HELP for assistance. Message and data rates may apply. Message frequency varies. Consent to receive text messages is not a condition of purchase or of receiving any service.
5. Calls and Call Recording
Calls between you and our representatives may be monitored or recorded for quality assurance, training, and recordkeeping. Where required by law, we will notify you at the start of the call. If you do not want a call recorded, please tell the representative and they will end the recording or provide another way to assist you.
6. How We Share Your Information
Mobile phone numbers and text messaging opt-in data are excluded from every category listed below. They are never shared or sold to third parties or affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes, and are disclosed only to the messaging vendors and wireless carriers required to deliver messages on our behalf, or where required by law.
Other personal information is shared only as described below:
- Service providers and processors that perform services for us — including website hosting, cloud storage, CRM, analytics, email and text message delivery, call handling, and scheduling — and that are permitted to use the information only to provide services to us.
- Installers, contractors, and technicians who need your contact and property information to assess, install, or service equipment.
- Utilities, grid operators, and energy-program administrators where necessary to confirm eligibility, obtain program funding, secure interconnection or permitting approval, or administer program requirements.
- Corporate affiliates and subsidiaries, for the purposes described in this Policy. Mobile information and text messaging opt-in data are excluded from this sharing and are never shared with affiliates for marketing or promotional purposes.
- Professional advisors such as auditors, accountants, insurers, and attorneys.
- Legal, safety, and compliance purposes — when we believe disclosure is required by law, subpoena, or legal process, or is necessary to protect the rights, property, or safety of MeterHome, our customers, or the public.
- Business transfers — in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, or sale of assets, subject to the commitments in this Policy.
- With your direction or consent — when you ask us to share information with someone else.
- Aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you, which we may use and disclose for any lawful purpose.
We do not sell your personal information for money. See Section 7 regarding advertising technologies and how to opt out.
8. Your Choices
- Text messages: reply STOP to any message. We process opt-outs within a reasonable time and no later than 10 business days after receipt.
- Marketing emails: click the unsubscribe link in the email, or email Sales@meterhome.com.
- Phone calls: ask any representative to place you on our internal do-not-call list, or email Sales@meterhome.com with your number.
- Cookies and advertising: see Section 7.
Even if you opt out of marketing, we may still contact you about an active request, appointment, or account.
9. Your Privacy Rights

California residents have these rights under the CCPA/CPRA, including the right to know the categories of personal information collected, the sources, the business purposes, and the categories of third parties to which it is disclosed, and to limit the use of sensitive personal information.
Residents of other states with comprehensive privacy laws have comparable rights, and we honor them regardless of where you live.

10. How Long We Keep Information
We keep personal information for as long as needed for the purposes described in this Policy, and then for as long as necessary to comply with legal, tax, program, warranty, and recordkeeping obligations and to resolve disputes. Records of consent to be contacted, and of opt-out requests, are retained for at least five years in order to demonstrate compliance with telemarketing and messaging laws. When information is no longer needed, we delete or de-identify it.
11. Security
We use administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect personal information, including encryption in transit (TLS/SSL), access controls, and vendor due diligence. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your interaction with us is no longer secure, contact us immediately at Sales@meterhome.com.
12. Children’s Privacy
The Services are not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us at Sales@meterhome.com and we will delete it.
13. Third-Party Websites
Our websites may link to sites we do not operate, including utility and program administrator websites. We are not responsible for the privacy practices or content of those sites. Review their privacy policies before providing information.
14. Where Information Is Processed
We are based in the United States, and the information we collect is processed here. Our service providers may process information in other countries. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for those transfers. If you access the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States.
